THAILAND: Vestas has sold 60 V136-3MW turbines to an undisclosed customer, marking the company’s first sale of the model in Asia-Pacific.<\/p>\n
With the V136 having a hub height of 157 metres, the as-yet-unspecified projects will feature the highest towers in the region.<\/p>\n
The order includes a contract for the supply and installation of the turbines, as well as a 15-year management agreement with the buyer.<\/p>\n
Delivery of the turbines is expected to start in late 2017, with commissioning expected by mid-2018.<\/p>\n
When fully operational, the project or projects will take Vestas\u2019 total installed capacity in Thailand to more than 300MW.<\/p>\n
Vestas would not disclose the customer or whether the order was for one or more projects, at the customer\u2019s request, the manufacturer said.<\/p>\n
In mid-August, the company reported\u00a0a decrease in revenues, profits and earnings<\/a>\u00a0in its second quarter financial results, on the back of a “better-than-expected” period in 2016.<\/p>\n
