{"id":559,"date":"2018-07-31T16:49:41","date_gmt":"2018-07-31T13:49:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ege-windturbines.com\/en\/?p=559"},"modified":"2018-07-31T16:49:41","modified_gmt":"2018-07-31T13:49:41","slug":"eletaen-evia-wind-energy-park-benefits-worth-e82m-so-far","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ege-windturbines.com\/en\/2018\/07\/31\/eletaen-evia-wind-energy-park-benefits-worth-e82m-so-far\/","title":{"rendered":"ELETAEN: Evia Wind Energy Park Benefits Worth \u20ac82m So Far"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[et_pb_section admin_label=&#8221;section&#8221;][et_pb_row admin_label=&#8221;row&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243;][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;Text&#8221; background_layout=&#8221;light&#8221; text_orientation=&#8221;justified&#8221; use_border_color=&#8221;off&#8221; border_color=&#8221;#ffffff&#8221; border_style=&#8221;solid&#8221;]<\/p>\n<article id=\"post-20780\" class=\"post-20780 post type-post status-publish format-standard has-post-thumbnail hentry category-renewables tag-eletaen tag-evia tag-wind-power\">\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>Wind energy parks developed and operating on Evia, Greece\u2019s second-largest island slightly northeast of Athens, have so far offered benefits worth over 82 million euros to the local economy, according to a study conducted by ELETAEN, the Greek Wind Energy Association.<\/p>\n<p>The ELETAEN study points out that installed wind energy facilities are annually\u00a0 contributing 3.9 million euros to the local economy, not including job creation and indirect benefits.<\/p>\n<p>A 3 percent surcharge benefiting municipalities and citizens is imposed on wind energy facilities.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities monitoring the sector\u2019s developments in the region believe that new wind energy projects currently being developed on Evia promise to multiply the benefits, the study noted.<\/p>\n<p>ELETAEN based its study on data collected from most enterprises operating or involved in wind energy projects in the region \u2013 Rokas Iberdrola, Terna Energy, Enel Green Power, Protergia, Jasper Energy, Epen, Enteka, Enercon, Vestas and Siemens Gamesa.<\/p>\n<p>According to the ELETAEN study, the total capacity of wind energy facilities developed in Evia\u2019s south between 1998 and 2017 amounted to 218.7 MW at the end of 2017.
