{"id":636,"date":"2018-12-31T11:08:19","date_gmt":"2018-12-31T09:08:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ege-windturbines.com\/en\/?p=636"},"modified":"2018-12-31T11:08:19","modified_gmt":"2018-12-31T09:08:19","slug":"vestas-opens-russian-blade-factory","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ege-windturbines.com\/en\/2018\/12\/31\/vestas-opens-russian-blade-factory\/","title":{"rendered":"Vestas opens Russian Blade Factory"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[et_pb_section admin_label=&#8221;section&#8221;][et_pb_row admin_label=&#8221;row&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243;][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;Text&#8221; background_layout=&#8221;light&#8221; text_orientation=&#8221;justified&#8221; use_border_color=&#8221;off&#8221; border_color=&#8221;#ffffff&#8221; border_style=&#8221;solid&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>Vestas has opened its blade production facility in Ulyanovsk, according to the Russian Association of the Wind Industry (RAWI).<\/p>\n<p>It will produce more than 55 blades there in 2019 that will be used in V124 turbines with capacities of 3.6MW, 3.8MW and 4.2MW, RAWI added.<\/p>\n<p>The manufacturer has already\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.windpowermonthly.com\/article\/1465417\/components-produced-russia-first-time\">started production of nacelles<\/a>\u00a0in Nizhny Novgorod \u2014 the first production of components in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.windpowermonthly.com\/russia\">Russia<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 and plans to set up a tower production facility in Rostov, both in the west of the country.<\/p>\n<p>Vestas\u2019 global partner, Windar Renovables, has also opened a tower factory in Rostov. It plans to produce enough towers there for up to 300MW of turbines each year, the manufacturer stated.<\/p>\n<p>The Danish manufacturer announced its intention to set up Russian manufacturing facilities to comply with the country\u2019s strict local content laws, after being named the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.windpowermonthly.com\/article\/1437217\/vestas-set-1gw-russia-deal\">preferred suppler<\/a>\u00a0for the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.windpowermonthly.com\/article\/1436585\/enel-enters-russia-fortum-dominates-auction\">1GW capacity won<\/a>\u00a0by a joint venture (JV) of Finnish power company Fortum and Russian technology giant Rusnano in June 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Wind farms must include 65% local content, and 44% of turbine materials must be sourced locally, according to RAWI.<\/p>\n<p>This local content requirement also prompted Siemens Gamesa opening facilities and signing cooperation agreements in Russia in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>In September, SGRE\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.windpowermonthly.com\/article\/1491971\/sgre-build-turbines-russia\">signed an agreement\u00a0<\/a>with Siemens Gas Turbine Technologies to assemble wind turbine nacelles, hubs and drivetrains at its factory in the outskirts of St Petersburg in western Russia from August 2019.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.windpowermonthly.com\/article\/1521046\/vestas-opens-russian-blade-factory\">https:\/\/www.windpowermonthly.com\/article\/1521046\/vestas-opens-russian-blade-factory<\/a><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[et_pb_section admin_label=&#8221;section&#8221;][et_pb_row admin_label=&#8221;row&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243;][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;Text&#8221; background_layout=&#8221;light&#8221; text_orientation=&#8221;justified&#8221; use_border_color=&#8221;off&#8221; border_color=&#8221;#ffffff&#8221; border_style=&#8221;solid&#8221;] Vestas has opened its blade production facility in Ulyanovsk, according to the Russian Association of the Wind Industry (RAWI).
