{"id":749,"date":"2019-08-12T15:05:40","date_gmt":"2019-08-12T12:05:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ege-windturbines.com\/en\/?p=749"},"modified":"2019-08-12T15:05:40","modified_gmt":"2019-08-12T12:05:40","slug":"iea-edf-unit-to-build-300-mw-wind-farm-in-nebraska","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ege-windturbines.com\/en\/2019\/08\/12\/iea-edf-unit-to-build-300-mw-wind-farm-in-nebraska\/","title":{"rendered":"IEA, EDF unit to Build 300 MW Wind Farm in Nebraska"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[et_pb_section admin_label=&#8221;section&#8221;][et_pb_row admin_label=&#8221;row&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243;][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;Text&#8221; background_layout=&#8221;light&#8221; text_orientation=&#8221;justified&#8221; use_border_color=&#8221;off&#8221; border_color=&#8221;#ffffff&#8221; border_style=&#8221;solid&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>Infrastructure and Energy Alternatives and EDF Renewables North America will build the 300 MW Milligan 1 Wind Farm in Saline County in southeast Nebraska.<\/p>\n<p>The project award is valued at about $98 million, according to IEA, and will be able to power up to 115,000 average homes.<\/p>\n<p>The power generated by the project\u2019s planned 99 turbines will be delivered into the Southwest Power Pool electrical grid.<\/p>\n<p>The wind farm, which is located near Nebraska\u2019s capital city of Lincoln, will draw upon power generated from a combination of Vestas V110, Siemens 129 and Siemens 145 turbines.<\/p>\n<p>Work on the Milligan 1 project is scheduled to begin in September with full operation by November 2020.<\/p>\n<p>EDF Renewables North America is the lead developer on the project. The company is a market leading independent power producer and service provider with over 30 years of expertise in renewable energy.<\/p>\n<p>EDF Renewables North America is a unit of EDF Renewables, the dedicated renewable energy affiliate of the EDF Group.<\/p>\n<p>The scope of IEA\u2019s work on Milligan 1 Wind includes engineering and construction of the turbine foundations, turbine access roads, MV collection system, wind turbine installation and construction of the on-site operations and maintenance building.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. wind power industry increased its overall capacity by 8 percent in 2018 to 96,433 MW.
